Sound Building

Top-ranked Ringling College of Art and Design partnered with Semkhor Productions and Sarasota County to develop the largest film and visual arts production facility on Florida’s Gulf Coast—and they trusted Wessel to make it happen.

The $15 million mixed commercial and academic campus will support film, television and multimedia creation, direction and production via two new studios and a post production facility. Wessel is incorporating groundbreaking technology to build out sophisticated physical spaces designed by some of the entertainment world’s most recognized experts.

Students and professionals alike were awed at the April 2017 ribbon-cutting for Studio A, the first building to be completed. Home to well-equipped production, meeting, editing and makeup rooms, the state-of-the-art building features an 8,400 sq. ft. accoustically-isolated sound stage. Studio B, set to open next, mirrors Studio A offerings with the addition of office space for Ringling faculty.

The Post Production facility is the third building, and construction has just concluded. It features three 2,500 sq. ft. sound stages, editing bays, mixing rooms, sound effects stage, color retouch rooms and additional office spaces.

Wessel’s ability to successfully execute large-scale, complex and advanced-technology projects puts us center stage with academic, commercial and public stakeholders—and will continue to support arts and entertainment students and stars in the Sarasota community and across the U.S. for years to come.
