Framing Reputation

Even before Wessel completed this highly recognizable 30,000 square-foot healthcare construction project in the heart of the Sarasota medical district, The Silverstein Institute ear, nose and throat practice had developed its reputation as an otolaryngology innovator. To accommodate growing patient demand, Dr. Herbert Silverstein and his esteemed team needed a new home base. Wessel Construction became their top pick to build it.

It was important that the healthcare construction project reflect the excellence of The Silverstein Institute itself. The building’s contemporary exterior architecture reflects a three-story elevation. Horizontal eye-lines and curved corners contribute to the perception of a large expanse.

Inside, patients are welcomed into comfortable, open surroundings. Exam and procedure rooms are built for both patient comfort and technical efficiency, and large windows allow light in without compromising privacy.

In order to support the modern design of the medical office complex, Wessel Construction pulled out some special technology of its own. Wessel installed a 42-foot auger piling to ensure the stability that sandy soil conditions required. A post-tension construction technique was applied to the upper floors to minimize structural requirements and allow for additional usable space.

For this healthcare construction job, Wessel applied best practices and innovative thinking so The Silverstein Institute could provide cutting-edge care to more of those who need it.
